GOVERNANCE AND SYNTHESIS

JUST ART is led by Prof. Ann-Sophie Lehmann at the University of Groningen (RUG).

As well as overseeing the research as a whole, Prof. Lehmann and RUG are responsible for the governance of the JUST ART consortium. They coordinate the productive interaction between co-applicants and societal partners and provide the project management for JUST ART. As the project progresses, RUG will systematically collect research practices and results and synthesise these along four trajectories, thus co-designing and co-creating shared outputs and milestones together with JUST ART members and partners. The four trajectories are:

(i) Create a robust Theory-to-Practice Framework which connects the methodologies of artistic research to the known tenets of climate justice;

(ii) Chart challenges, difficulties, and good practices during the JUST ART artist residencies;

(iii) Synthesise and develop all educational project activities for the JUST ART school;

(iv) Document, enable and improve translations that the various JUST ART artistic research projects afford between scientific data that document climate change, and Indigenous, spiritually imbued practices that offer models for recognising other species and rights of nature.
